PVC Prices Are Falling, Why Warren Buffett Should Be Worried.s

Energy bank and research group According to Tudor Pickering Holt, PVC spot prices have reduced 46% from one quarter to the next.

This decreases the profitability of companies who make and sell PVC, made from ethylene.

The most popular plastic for bottles and bags, polyethylene, has had a price decline of 24% during the most recent three months.

The price of polypropylene, which is used in everything from food storage containers to automobile parts, has decreased by 32%.

In the previous month, the Russell 2000 index of firms with lower market capitalizations has fallen by around 8.2%.

Only 7.7% had lost money in the iShares Russell 2000 Growth exchange-traded fund (IWO).

Despite all of this year's S&P 500 falls, the market benchmark still appears to be costly.

After starting 2022 at approximately 21.5 times, the index currently trades for about 16 times the projected annualized profits per share of its constituent firms.

Higher-income generations still have liquid assets despite some households using them up, and their spending might keep inflation high for longer.
